Re: Today's Govan News...

Hi Jimmy,

The new Scottish Football set up is not perfect but a step in the right direction in my opinion. At least some money should trickle down to the lower teams. I think in effect the lower leagues are equal to the English Conference teams.
It is good that a team will be able to go up from non league as well.
Good to see some positive stuff in Govan.

Re: Today's Govan News...

Well Govan needs all the positive action it can get. The place is getting so run down. There is supposed to be a recommitment to Govan. Lot of housing and shops getting revamped. It really needs a facelift and a bit more employment for the area. Michael S Collins, (member here) sent me a picture I have been searching for, for years. It is of McKechnie Street nearly as I remember it. If you follow this picture up from the lounge word on the Lyceum Bar to the top of the page and move one window to the left, is where I was beought up in Govan. That was the Bedroom. To the left of the picture at street level was a garage where I can remember them fixing cars. If you look closely at the picture between the pub and the blocked up window ground level was the entrance to number 6 McKechnie Street. So many memories brought back with one simple photograph. I have to thank Michael S Collins for taking the effort in sending me the photo by e-mail. Anyway, here's the photograph:
