Interesting that you lived above the Lyceum Snnoker Halls. Doing a bit of research I found that the Pearce Institute had a snooker team. However from what I have heard most of the hustler's went to the snooker club beneath you. Did you ever go in to the snooker club Jimmy ?.

Hi David,  I didn't live above the Lyceum Snooker Halls. My Father used to go into the snooker hall quite a lot and I used to go in with him. I always wanted to beat him at snooker, (because he was real good and played in there for money, guess you would call him one of the hustler's) It took me some time as I was only young but I eventually did beat him. He wasn't too happy about that either. I said to him that he shouldn't feel pissed off because I beat him, after all he was the one who taught me to play the game.

I played in there any time I had some money and got quite good at the game but I never played for money as I didn't have any that I could pay-up with if I lost. Here is a picture of where I lived in McKechnie Street accross from the Lyceum.
